Fresh Fish and Chips / Garibaldi

Curt | Jun 14, 200303:35 PM

Stopped by Garibaldi to visit a friend docked there. Hit Fisherman's Korner and had the freshest fish and chips ever. The fish, and all the seafood, is bought from local boats and has never seen the highway.

The light batter serves to hold in moisture rather than add flavor. The potatoes are also fresh cut. The slaw was the only thing not outstanding.

For $8.95, you get 3 fillets, chips, slaw and toast. For $2 more, you get all you can eat, cooked fresh to order!

Noticed a burger at a nearby table. It was made from a hand-formed patty, not factory pressed.

It's located in the harbor, where 7th hits Commercial. At this time, the hours are 5am to 8pm, Thursday through Monday, closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Because the hours are written on a chalkboard, they may be subject to change.

If you're cruising the coast, around Garibaldi, it's well worth stopping by. We drove down from Astoria for a second helping!
