Since we were talking about how to handle these, I counted how many of the last 100 threads (a thread being something which starts at the left margin) were about frequently recurring topics. I counted 22--where to get bagels, where to eat near Pac Bell Park, places to eat in the Napa Valley, 3 dinners needed, etc. I'm counting just to get a handle on it, not to criticize anyone for asking these questions.
That might seem like a lot (or not) but the "vegetarian meals near Union Square" type inquiries take up less space than the percentage suggests. Not surprisingly, the non-routine questions--where to buy dried chilis, cheap crabs available etc., spark more responses.
