So I finally scored reservations for my first trip to the Laundry and I've read many incredible things about the food - can't wait. My question is about the wine. I know they have a $50 corkage fee and I've heard that bottles start at $100.
We'll be a party of four. I'm thinking I'd rather spend $250 at Coit Liquor for a couple bottles of good Burgundy and/or Bordeaux rather than $500+ at the restaurant. Any hidden (cheaper) gems on their list? Doesn't have to be French, just big and red. We'll order whites off their list.
Or should we just splurge there and avoid the wrath of the Sommelier?
