I'm headed for my first trip to the French Laundry and I feel like a five year old on Christmas morning.
Many people have recommended having the restaurant pair wines for each course which sounds like the way to go. For a nine course meal should I assume each pour would be about 2 ounces?
Also, not to be cheap, but should I tip a full 20% or more on the wine service, considering the service for the tasting menu is now included in the price? Normally I tip on the whole amount of the check but this could add up to an additional $100-200...
