French Laundry, One Day at a Time...

Nick | May 12, 200303:29 PM

Today was the third day of dialing for The French Laundry. Average time to get through: one hour. Put myself and my friend on the waiting list for July 3rd through the 8th, and the 10th through the 12th, so far. Today I told her I'd talk to her tomorrow. Got a laugh, but I'd prefer a reservation....

Essentially my friend and I are building a trip around Bay Area food. The trip will not be made if we can't get into a couple restaurants, the toughest of which is almost certainly The French Laundry. Both of us are out of state, me in Oregon, him in Texas, which makes it tougher.

I've tried redial. I've tried It ain't working and I'd be very surprised if it did. It's like hitting the lottery (but more annoying and more costly).

Any new suggestions out there?

Also, anyone who would like to go to the French Laundry with us and is willing to go in about 9:30 am to get reservations in person? We could probably purchase your meal.....

My email's in the message....
