I am in Paris for one month, and would like to sample as many different types of cheese as possible. The sheer volume of cheese at a shop overwhelms me and my abysmal French doesn't really translate into intelligent communications with the cheesemongers. They mean well, but they tend to steer me towards classics. Nothing wrong with that, but I have tried them and want to get new taste experiences.
Are there any obscure cheeses I should try? Preferably those that never travel across the ocean. I like strong cheeses usually.
