freezing shortbread dough

I searched and couldn't find anything about freezing shortbread, so- how well does shortbread dough freeze? I'm making enormous quantities of different flavoured shortbread for Christmas presents, and I'd like to make the dough now, while I've got time, and bake it in a week and a half or two weeks. Since it's just butter, flour and sugar it seems to me that it ought to come through okay, but I want expert advice before I try. I'm going to do almond, peppermint, crystalized ginger, maybe lavender, and walnut shorbread.
