Freezing ragu sauce that includes milk

soccermom13 | Jul 14, 202108:27 AM     12

I am going to be cooking and freezing lots of food for my daughter and her husband who expecting their first baby next month. She loves a Giuliano Hazan ragu recipe that includes 1/2 cup of whole milk. But, thanks to Saregama, I now know that milk separated when frozen (but can be recombined).

What do you think? Make the ragu with milk and tell her she'll have to stir well to recombine? Or find a great recipe for a tomato-meat sauce with no milk or other dairy? (FYI: Saregama was responding to a question about freezing milk-based soups, so the fact that there is only 1/2 cup of whole milk in this ragu recipe may make a difference.)

Thanks in advance.
