Freezing nuts

I generally keep pine nuts in the freezer because I don't use them that frequently and freezing them does extend the time they can be kept without turning rancid. Since I generally toast them prior to use, freezing does not seem to significantly effect their quality. Can the same be said of pecans, hazelnuts, cashews, pecans, etc?
