So I have a friend who celebrates New Year's Eve (also his birthday)with a big lobster feast. He gets about 10 lbs. worth...a 4-pounder for him, 2 pounders for the rest of the family. Right now, lobsters that size are 7.99/lb. On New Year's Eve, it'll be 10.99/lb. What he's thinking about doing is buying them now, cooking them halfway (?) and then freezing them until 12/31. I've done some checking around and find contradictory information. Any lobster experts out there care to tell me if his plans are possible? If the taste is CLOSE to fresh, he'll do it. If it turns into 10 lbs. of rubbery fishy stuff, he'll lay out the extra $30 at the end of the year.
