freezing cooked short ribs

Having a little dinner party, but need to cook in advance. Have a recipe for short ribs in red wine gravy (epicuriuos). Can I freeze it, the meat still on the bone, as long as I defrost in the fridge the night before and heat up slowly when I serve? I don't want to end up with a bowl of mushy meat (well, I would eat that myself, but I wouldn't serve it to guests!).
