I'm in charge of desserts for a party on the 29th of this month. I'd like to start making some of them this week, and freeze them. I'm planning on a flourless chocolate cake, and since it's a more involved recipe (for me), this is one I wanted to make early. Instead of flour the cake has very fine chopped nuts.
By chance I learned that chopped nuts should not be, or could not be frozen. I'm wondering if this is true across the board.ie: Does this mean nuts stored alone, or as part of something already baked ?
Also, how will freezing affect basic cakes, white, pound, angel etc.. if made from scratch.
I tried a few "other chowish sites" but being an amateur, I couldn't log on the forums that looked most helpful.
