My brother and sister-in-law are in temporary possession of the top tier of their daughter's wedding cake (the wedding and reception were today).
How does one wrap a frosted cake tier for freezing for the first wedding anniversary? It is a four-layer six-inch tier in a paperboard box. It doesn't seem that wrapping the tier would work ... it would mess up the frosting (my sister-in-law thinks it is buttercream). Do we wrap the box to seal it? What would you recommend we use? Plastic wrap and a combination of aluminum foil? Or something else?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
