Freezing Bell Peppers - better to roast and freeze, or leave raw?

I've got tons of bell peppers from my CSA and won't be able to get to them all. I'm thinking sausage and peppers would be lovely with them, so I was wondering if I should roast them and freeze them, or just slice and freeze? Or maybe leave them whole to make stuffed peppers at a later date? Anyone who has frozen peppers for cooking later have advice?
