Freezing baby food

karinl | Aug 12, 201305:37 AM

I'm about to go back to work full time and want to take advantage of the freezer for keeping my 11 month old well nourished. So far, I've been giving her something roughly pureed + a finger food for every meal.

Questions I have are
1. Are there any recipes/ingredients that do not freeze well? (i.e. I know I shouldn't refreeze anything with breast milk but what about other dairy products?)
2. Which veggies turned tough and chewy when frozen? (I put a bunch of steamed broccoli and cauliflower florets in the freezer, thinking I could defrost them in the microwave for a quick finger food. However, they turn tough and difficult for my baby to chew pieces off of.)
3. Any other advice for a baby who prefers to feed herself but doesn't seem to swallow much?
