So, every year I buy a package of filo (or phyllo) dough to make strudel. I usually just make one or two of the log shaped ones, then the package of dough sits forgotten in my freezer until I have to throw it out.
This year, I've decided to make a bunch of individual strudels and freeze them. I'm thinking it would be better to cook them and then freeze, rather than assemble, freeze and cook later. What are your thoughts on this?
Also, do I let them defrost completely before re-heating in the oven? Partially defrost? Cook from frozen? Will this even work? Have you tried it?
I wish they would sell smaller packages of filo!
