Franky & Johnny's

Went to F&J's yesterday with about 4 carloads of Frank's family members who were staying, leaving or driving through in one direction or another after celebrating Christmas either here or somewhere else.

The food was it's usual level - fair to mediocre - and a bit overpriced. I had the fried catfish po-boy and it wasn't bad. Thick filets, somewhat juicy, where I prefer thin and crispy but well done, and the fries were very good - not the usual rock hard, formerly frozen, strip of potato overcooked in somewhat overused oil.

My advice would still be to LOSE the salad - it's the farthest from fresh I've ever seen in New Orleans, I wouldn't be surprised if the lettuce came out of a can like the vegetables do.

But the big news is that we were told that there is a POSSIBILITY that boiled crawfish could be available on a come-and-go basis either later this week or next week. Just a possibility, mind you. BUT boiled crawfish is what Franky & Johnny's does best. So I suggest calling in a few days to check on crawfish status.
