Tried getting into Frankie’s 457, but we were shocked that there was an HOUR wait (For what I have no idea?) so we tried Fragole across the street - 394 Court bet. Carroll & 1st. What a pleasant surprise. Unlike the harried atmosphere @ Frankie’s, Fragole was an oasis. Pleasant staff in a nice homey atmosphere. The grilled calamari app was very tender. Gnocchi in a lamb ragu and the rigatoni firenzi were great. We passed on desert, but there were a lot of tiramisus and crème brules flying out of the kitchen. Seems like they do a brisk take-out biz as well. Just a nice experience throughout (Now I know what Billy Joel was singing about). They’re very reasonably priced and I’m curious to hear what else we should try for our next visit.
