Foursquare = Sundae?

Molly Symmonds | Jun 12, 2002 03:23 PM

In "Nickled and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America," B. Ehrenreich reports that when Maine residents say "foursquare," they're talking about an ice-cream sundae. Can any Mainers confirm this? Where did the term originate, and is it confined to Maine?

Cheers.
