Visiting family on Labor Day weekend, my Dad & Mom picked up 5 racks of spare ribs at Pio market on East State Street. We grilled them and finished them in the oven. They were an extremely good deal. At $1.79 / lb, they were meaty and tender and very fresh. Pio's is definitely the place to shop for pork ribs.
Everyone ate too many and sat around moaning in a carnivorous stupor.
P.S... Power's on Harrison is beginning to scare me. It's a burger joint that's been around forever and it looked, this time, like they're beginning to slip on the cleanliness. The white walls above the back of the counter are now yellow with grease. This is a crying shame. I hope they'll get back some of their former energy and keep it going well into the 21st century.
