A few in Fort Lauderdale

Had a great lunch at Southport Raw Bar..simple, fresh, inexpensive seafood..located at the end of a canal. Eclectic crowd; ranging from boat mechanics to people discussing mult million $ real estate deals.

Taverna Opa..excellent dinner of Greek salad, grilled octopus, lamb shank and moussaka. All delicious, friendly and professional service. I like this place a lot but I recommend it with a big asterisk..

***THIS PLACE IS LOUD*** Last time I was here, it was early in the evening. This time we got there about 8. It is sort of like being at a wedding...loud music, people dancing on tables..paper napkins thrown around.. a Greek thing? We had fun, but if you're not in the mood for that, it could be like a trip to the dentist.

A few stops at Bahia Cabana Bar. This place is about a 9 iron from the front door of our hotel. Pub food..good burgers, grouper, cold beer. Nice spot overlooking the Bahia Mar Marina and ICW..friendly crowd and a good place to get the water bus.
