Forks Revisited

Jim H. | Sep 21, 2003 03:31 PM

Went to Fork in San Anselmo the other night, to splurge a bit. Curious whether the expansion next door would have any adverse affect on the place...none. Didn't even know the other room was there (well, hardly). We had originally planned on the tasting menu (seven courses for $49), but opted for less selections. When they first opened about 2 years ago, the plates were very small...and I am sure many customers suggested larger plates (at higher price, of course). I can say without reservation that it was one of the best meals I've ever had, and the rest of the family agreed. I almost regret writing this post, for fear it will ruin things...but a place like this deserves to be recognized. Service excellent, staff superb. And I am VERY demanding. It was the only time in 20 years my wife and I didn't say after the meal..."we coulda done better at home."
