Say what you will about great mega-chains, the Whole Foods on Brentwood (just south of Galleria) is a great resource. I actually breathed a sigh of relief on walking through the door. This being the south, the staff seems friendly and cooperative. The cheese lady comped me a container of marinated artichokes. Please buy the unusual things they carry-- like fresh, Italian marinated anchovies (a great, mild-tasting product, totally unlike those things in a can) and expensive Belgian butter-- so they will continue to have them. They don't have "everything", but they do a very good job, and (local restaurants TAKE NOTE) their meat is hormone-free and the fish is FRESH. If they can get fresh fish in the midwest, so can you.
