Just curious to see what your experiences have been at Whole Foods in Brentwood.

I'm currently boycotting the place because I just became totally fed up with the lack of service and expertise there. The fish and meat people are woefully unknowledgeable about what they're selling. One woman at the meat counter told me she wasn't allowed to use the bone saw so couldn't cut up some short ribs for me. The whole fish I've gotten there has been terribly scaled every single time. I've bought mussels there which the fish person did not check individually, which they do even at Schnuck's or Dierberg's. I get the feeling they're more interested in hiring cute, hip employees with cool hair than real butchers, fishmongers, and grocers.

Anyway, I've taken my business to Straub's. In combination with Wine Merchant, most of my needs are very well served. Although I feel bad that less of the produce I now buy is organic, I really don't need the kind of aggravation I was getting at Whole Foods.
