I was having dinner in Redwood City tonight, and Chris dragged me excitedly over to the new Whole Foods on El Camino and Jefferson which he said had opened today.
Great store, not packed yet. The fish department was pretty spectacular, the highlight being a bottomless bowl of cracked Dungeness crab that half the store was devouring. Okay, the saffron pears grabbed my attention too.
Terrifying cookie and flower prices, the usual wonderful cheese selection, a whole row just for olive oil. Nicer than the Palo Alto Whole Foods, although no massage chairs yet. Smaller selection than in SF.
As a bonus, they gave us each Whole Foods tote bags, long and extra deep, perfect for a cracked crab, a baguette, and a bottle of wine.
