I'd like to head out on a short road trip (5-6 days) starting from my home in Baton Rouge and traveling 3-8 hours a day with the goal of hitting as many awesome examples of great southern food as possible. I'm particularly interested in barbecue but it's tough to figure out the best way plan of attack, do I head west, north or east? What places should I absolutely not miss? I'm from Canada and unfamiliar with the ways of the barbecue, I also haven't got a huge budget for this trip and I'll be traveling alone. Thanks for the help!
