i posted twice over the last year looking for feedback from anyone that's attended the bi-monthly Foodie NYC event (FoodieNYC.com) and did not get a responce. we ended up going to the last event in March and it was a wonderful night of good food, wine and food talk. the next one is May 22. I highly recommend it. the food is great, the event itself is a fun and unique NY food experience, and the wines were unbeliveable! i copied this info about the wines being served May 22 from their website foodienyc.com -
1990 Alfred Gratien Brut (93 pts, Robert Parker)
1971 Roland Rapet, Pernand Vergelesses, 1er Cru Vergelesses
1964 Jaques Duret, Hospices de Nuits St. George, 1er Cru Les Didiers
1964 Louis Latour, Clos de La Vigne au Saint
1955 Remoissenet, Clos Vougeot
1989 Chateau Fesles, Bonnezeaux
fine wine expert, Ben Brandt describes the distinctive styles of the Rapet, Duret and Latour as "exhibiting aromas of tea and figs, followed by a mellowing into flavors of beef and roses". The 1955 is recently released from Remoissenet's cellars, and "is in a class by itself."
