C-Food at Yonge & Eglinton

I went to C-Food restaurant at Yonge & Eg - a location that falls somewhat out my typical consideration set - however, i try to be open-minded about where i dine - even though my instincts told me otherwise...

the menu is mostly all about seafood (makes sense!). the appetizers are very yummy and savoury - in particular, the smoked salmon/avocado salad. You can order soup in shot glass ($2) or in a bowl ($6). We had the clam chowder, which was really good. I think it was in the main course though that the restaurant failed for us. All fishes and seafood can be cooked in three different ways: baked, grilled or battered (like the fish in fish & chips). My friend and i had grilled scallops and grilled shrimp for our main courses and left somewhat disappointed. Each dish was about $28 (5 scallops or 3 jumbo shrimp). The shrimp were significant in size and reasonably satisfying, however the scallops seemed undercooked and not fresh.

a meal for two people with one appetizer and a glass of wine for each person was $100 before tip.

though the overall experience wasn't horrible, i can't see myself going back for another go.

anyone else have thoughts to share on this place?
