When the topic is Chester County restaurants, I'm usually more on the suggesting side than the inquiry side, but my bias is almost always in the direction of BYOs. Today I'm looking for a recommendation for a restaurant that serves great food and also has an impressive wine list. I'd like to keep my search to Chester County or nearby Delaware or Delaware County. The two restaurants that immediately came to mind were the Dilworthtown Inn and The House of William & Merry.
I haven't been to Dilworthtown Inn in many, many years. They were, at one time, known for their wine list, and there was a time when they were the "go-to" fine dining destination in the area. I've read mixed reviews about their food here on CH and I don't know if their wine offerings are still as great as they had been. As for W&M, I've been there twice and both times totally enjoyed the food. Their wine list is certainly adequate, if not as broad as Dilworthtown's.
But I'd like to know what dining options I might be overlooking. Can anyone recommend a place for a "special occasion" dinner that has what I'm looking for? Thanks!
