Food this weekend: Renee's, Infusions Tea Spa, Taiwan Cafe, Rudy's

Went to Renee's Cafe on Elm St. in Somerville (between Davis and Teele Squares) for brunch on Sunday. Service was kind of slow, food was good but nothing extaordinary. I had Eggs Benedict, the eggs and sauce were nice, but the english muffin was barely toasted and only lukewarm.

Infusions Tea Spa on Brighton Av (1 big block west of Super 88) still has the best bubble tea i've had in Boston. It's kind of pricey, but the jasmine green milk tea with boba was the perfect sweetness (since I asked for it to be not too sweet), and the boba there are chewy with no dry center, but not over mushy like they sometimes are at Lollicup. Speaking of Lollicup, I went into the new Lollicup in Harvard, but didn't get anything, it looks pretty nice though, the mochi ice creams look real good, does anyone know where they come from?

Back to Infusion though, I also had a tea egg which was fine. I like the atmosphere in Infusion though, very chill and cozy for a cloudy day.

Went to Taiwan Cafe on Sunday night, had the pork with mustard greens and fresh bean curd, the quality of the mustard greens seemed a little worse than usual, and it seemed like there was less pork. Still a great dish though. Had some flat rice noodles with pork, nothing special but it's hard to ruin fresh rice noodles. Crispy tofu was excellent as usual.

Went to Rudy's in Teele Sq. for dinner and shared nachos and tacos, both fine but nothing special at all. Not impressed with my first time at Rudy's, probably wouldn't go back unless I want an expensive margarita.

That's about it for now! chau....
