The first food after you've been sick

I'm celebrating tonight. Just ate my first real food since Tuesday noon. I've had saltines & Gatorade, but not much else. I could hardly bear to read the delectables posted here. Well, tonight was the night. I could tell I was hungry but had the feeling that the hunger sensation wouldn't endure because it had been dormant too long. I spun into action! It was more like I crept, but anyway...

My fist meal after being sick is always the same. A hamburger pattie, good beef, please, cooked medium, with milk gravy. A cast iron pan is best for the requisite crunch. It's finally good to chew! Milk gravy goes back to my childhood. All you do is cook your beef and pour out the drippings but leave the crispy bits and pour in *enough* regular milk and scrape around in the skillet. Do not thicken. Salt and pepper. Pour over the meat. Serve to the convalescent with toast or a baked potato. It does the trick for me. What works for you?
