Looking for food recs not too far of the parade routes on Monday night and Fat Tuesday

adamandeve | Jan 16, 201510:25 AM     3

Hi-

We will be arriving to NOLA on Monday Feb 16 in the afternoon, and staying at the Loews Hotel near Poydras. I am at a bit of a loss on how to plan our meals on Monday night and Tuesday, as it seems that moving around wont be too easy and many places are closed anyway. I am still hoping to not have to get mediocre food for the first days of our stay. What would you recommend that is within a half and hour walk from the hotel? Places we have reservations for the rest of our stay are Boucherie, Maurepas, hoping for Jacques Imo, Couchon. Also, I will be with my 7 year old, so I want to avoid the FQ. From what I have seen Parasol's might be a good option for lunch, perhaps ever the Commander's Place is doable? We are New Yorkers, so not afraid of a good walk. Happy to hear recs for simple places, such as Clover Grill or the such.
