I'm finally ready to plunk down some money on a food processor. So I thought I'd the experts on Chowhound Homecooking what you thought. (I have done a search/find on earlier posts and couldn't find the 411 I'm looking for.)
What is the best kind of processor out there? Something that can be found and bought now (I know, I know....the older models are made better etc.) I need something I can buy at a store or order online with ease. Any deals going on?
- best overall machine...ease of use, power, blades, buttons
- best "dream, if money were no object" machine
- best machine for the price
- best cool feature on any particular machine
- best design....vanity options (color/look)
- Euro made machines better than Asian manufactured?
Can you please give me specifics on pros and cons of the models that you like, or just on machines you've worked with. Any horror stories or innovative uses for a food processor that isn't commonly known would be great.
A friend of mine has a smooth black Kitchen Aide from 6 years back and the lid gets "stuck"(through liquid/suction) so tight on the base that you've got to get the machine in a wrestling headlock (practically cracking) the plastic lid to get it off the bowl. That would be CON in my book, and I would really like to know about things like that before I make a purchase.
Thanks hounds for any suggestions!
p.s. Does Chowhound get something for me clicking link through their site? How does that work?
