I finally got rid of my 25-y.o. KitchenAid food processor (a bicentennial wedding gift!) last month. Suffice to say, it didn't owe me anything.
We got along fine without it till now, but this week the basil's as high as an elephant's eye, and I'm not enough of a purist to use mortar and pestle for my pesto.
I found a few brand name recommendations for food processors in the archives. BUT...since I don't ever use the food processor for chopping or slicing, does it make sense to buy a really good blender instead? Is there a blender that will process largish batches of hummus or pesto? Is there a blender that's easy to scrape the stuff out of?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
