How much food to order?

sals42 | May 25, 201805:04 PM     14

Hi guys, I am planning my little sister's high school graduation party in a couple of weeks. The event will be in the backyard and I have 50 people coming total. Mostly adults and along with a couple of younger children and about 12 teens. So really only about 20-25 adults. I will be catering most of the main courses because my schedule doesn’t allow a lot of time for prep. I wanted to know how much food to order?

I am ordering sliced brisket and pulled chicken and two half trays of mac and cheese. I am also making baked beans at home, a big tray of salad and ordering a couple of pizzas for the younger kids and buns. I will also have an array of appetizers before the main course is served. As of right now I am ordering 8lbs of brisket and 7 lbs of pulled chicken. I am worried that it won’t be enough. I realize That rule of thumb is 1/2 lbs per person but I will be having a ton of other food. Any one have any advice? I would rather have some leftovers then not have enough food. Thank you!
