I was just wondering earlier today, how many chowhounds here are part of a food co-operative? I had never been a part of one before I moved here, but once I got to DC I heard about food co-ops that bring locally grown produce direct to buyers (thus cutting out chain supermarkets, pesticides, "freezer" produce, etc. etc.)
Anyway, everyone on the board is very cognizant of where and what they are eating when they are eating out- are y'all the same at home too?
Just curious. And if you are a part of one, had you been in one before you moved to DC as well? I have lived all over the place, in some pretty hippie cities even (Seattle, Philly), and the thought had never even occurred to me until one day by chance I came across one here in DC and joined up. Haven't been to Giant since.
