Food Network's Chocolate Runway Challenge: A New Low

ooroger | Feb 10, 200810:27 AM     8

Did anyone see this last night? I saw approximately 5 minutes, the first of which was spent mouthing "Oh...My...God"; during the remaining four, I rolled around on the floor laughing.

The premise: "Five of the world’s top pastry chefs make the world’s finest chocolates that you can not only eat, but wear. Each competitor designs an evening dress made out of chocolate for a chance to win $10,000. Their dress has to make it on to a live model and through a real runway show. This competition pushes each chef’s creative limit as they not only test their chocolate skills, but also their sewing and fashion design knowledge."

Watching trained chefs using sewing machines, surrounded by judges with clipboards, was hilarious. Compounding the inadvertent humor is the seriousness with which the judges and commentators take their roles.
