Food is Life

I've been thinking much about food these days. Up until early this year, I thought plants felt no pain. Now, after doing some research, I have found they have many characteristics similar to humans. They move here and there, communicate with each other and have various ways of preserving their lives. This has motivated in me something of the preserver, wanting to eat and live in a way that is good for both parties. Which is especially difficult when I find most plants we eat are killed completely, much like the animals. I have recently begun practicing eating a few leaves from plants here and there. There can be many tiny bugs on them so I have to be sure to remove them.

Also, I have ended my marijuana habit for good. Expanding out this understanding of plant life, I see this plant never gets to experience the joy of reproducing, which our foods at least get to do. That is a sad existence to me, confined and killed just for their parts.

I hope for a new balance to begin, one where we can all give and take in a way that benefits both. This is where I will begin, the simple intake of a few green leaves.
