Having reviewed this site numerous times and having written down close to a hundred restaurant names and then subsequently losing all those names, I feel like I finally just need to post and work from there.
Two friends and myself will be visiting Italy from March 25th to April 5th. We would love as much advice as possible on which restaurants we should invest our time and money in. We don't need to be off the beaten path, but we certainly don't want to get suckered into tourist traps or sub par food, and restaurants filled with locals would probably be preferred.
Our itinerary will leave us in the following places for dinner/lunch:
Rome: 3 dinners
La Spieza: 1 dinner
Cinque Terre: 1 lunch
Lucca: 1 dinner
Florence: 2 dinners
Siena: 2 dinners
Montalcino/Montepulciano: 1 dinner
We are looking for places that would serve good regional food, but be reasonably priced. 30 Euro per person would be ideal, but we are definitely willing to go well above that on occasion if the food merits it.
Beyond that, if there are any sandwich/pizza places for quick lunches of merit, we would love to hear about those as well.
Thank you for all your past advice I've been reading up on and hopefully future advice as well.
