food near GW campus

Jen | Sep 3, 2003 08:50 PM

I'm a grad student at George Washington University in DC, and my department recently moved to a building on the extreme south end of campus. We're far removed from anything resembling a decent lunch place, and are now stuck with Subway sandwiches and the nearest dining hall. Do any of you know of, for example, a government cafeteria open to the public, or a hole in the wall lunch spot? We're on the corner of 19th and E, just up from Virginia. If it helps, we're near the Red Cross building, GSA, and World Bank, and a bunch of government buildings (not sure what) across Virginia Ave.
I'm not looking for the greatest lunch on earth (couldn't afford it either!), rather, just something to add to the slim list of lunch spots.
Thanks for your help!
