Does food in your freezer absorb odors and tastes of other food? How to prevent?

My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I am sure that the food in my freezer absorbs the odors, and even the flavors, of food it's stored next to. I had some frozen banana muffins next to a bottle of vodka for about a month, and when I went to go eat one of the muffins I noticed it tasted like vodka! Does anyone notice this in their own freezers, and is there a way to package food to prevent this from happening?
Also, does anyone notice that storing bread (like bagels or rolls) in plastic bags gives it a weird taste?
Any advice appreciated!
