Food focused day trip from Venice?

kosmonautbruce | May 17, 201909:13 AM     5

My wife and I are returning to Venice and the Biennale next month, for a longish stay of 12 days. We benefited so much on our last trip to Venice from the dining recommendations we found here, thank you all!

This time we'll be there longer and will have our two teenagers with us, so we're expanding our planning a bit. They will need some excursions from the city, so we'll probably explore the Lido and do a Burano/lagoon day as well.

But we would love to do a day trip into the Veneto region if possible. Are there any particularly interesting towns/villages accessible from Venice that would let us really explore the local food culture? A prosecco winery? A town with a charming and authentic restaurant off the beaten path?

If that is too ambitious, we could of course do a day in Verona. Are there any great places to eat there?

Any insights very much appreciated!
