Got the food covered, but where to go for cocktails? Sea& PDX

My best friend and I are embarking on a west coast adventure soon (only 8 weeks and 4 days of research left!)...We're flying into Seattle and driving all the way to San Diego.

Anyhoo I've been doing research for MONTHS. And I have a few questions.....

Where to go for cocktails in both towns? We are both in our late twenties...and my buddie is gay, so I guess I should be a good friend and find out if there are good gay bars I should know about...but also we really enjoy wine and Michael loves a good martini...of course I can't say no to a good beer either!

Also, food wise:

My picks for seattle (which are based on reviews and cost (hello 19 days, I need some sort of budget restrictions):
Pagliacci Pizzas!!
Brasa (for the super cheap happy hour)
Osteria La Spiga
Matt's in the Market

Would you recommend Matt's for lunch or dinner?

For Portland, I'm pretty much sticking to happy hours cause I've been finding great deals.

Anyhoo your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!
