Fontina Substitute?

I'm making a baked pasta dish with three cheeses and the recipe calls for gorgonzola, parmesan, and fontina. I have gorgonzola and parmesan but no fontina, however I do have both cheddar and gruyere -- which do people think would be a better replacement for the fontina?
