I just wanted to thank those who provided suggestions in response to my query about visiting Manhattan this past weekend, as well as those whose posts we benefited from indirectly. It ended up just being my husband, 10 year old daughter, and myself, which was more manageable given the large crowds. Anyway, upon arrival, we ate a late lunch at John's pizza, which we all loved- a great change from the rather uninteresting pizza available to us in the Boston suburbs. For dinner, we went to Trattoria Trecolori, which we were happy with also- food and service were very good. The following day, we had breakfast at the Strand Diner on W. 96th, which we also enjoyed. It was near our hotel, and seemed to be a place frequented by locals. This time of year, it was a treat to get good fresh fruit at a restaurant. We ate lunch at the food court and soup cafe at the American Museum of Natural History, which was good, followed by a good dinner at Island Burgers and Shakes (I haven't indulged in a milkshake that good in years!). We finished up with a wonderful breakfast at Foley's Fish House- view, service, price, and food were all excellent. Thanks again to everyone for the advice.
