One of my favorite restaurants back in the day, Flying Saucer in the Mission District was something special for the first few years. Now i've found one of the original owners (not the crazy guy, but the girl) has taken over the Boniere Bakery in Alameda of all places. She's making great savory stuff. Today I had a potato, leek and fennel tart with goat cheese. But the croissant and brioche are super light and, well, it has moved me to write about it. Any of you looking for a really incredible bakery should check it out. I put it up there with La Farine and Masse's. The desserts look incredible. I've only tried the Passion fruit and mango mousse. It was light and not too sweet. I can't wait to try the rest.
