Thanks to those who recommended Flying Fish when I complained that Dahlia Lounge wasn't worth the money. Flying Fish was wonderful! Much more inventive food. Many more things on the menu I really wanted to try and everything we did have was great! We had the seared foie gras as an appetizer. It was perfectly done and the scallop was an interesting and beautifully cooked addition. I had the Ahi tuna large plate that was served with almost an empanada like thing that had mexican flavors to it. The pairing was very interesting, I just longed for more of the empanada thing (only one small one on plate.) My husband had the mahi-mahi with a sort of eggplant salsa. That was truly a fantastic dish. Dessert was also good. My favorite thing about dessert was that they have a dessert wine or port wine sampler at $9.95. It was generous amounts of wine - for the dessert wine sampler it was an ice wine, a tokay, and a muscatel. I wish more places would do that.
In summary, I would highly recommend this place and especially over Dahlia Lounge. Although to be fair, Dahlia Lounge had good food - just not particularly inventive and the atmosphere at Dahlia Lounge was probably a bit more elegant than Flying Fish in my opinion. Still, I'd choose Flying Fish anyday.
