I'm planning to finally head out from Manhattan to Flushing for dim sum tomorrow (Saturday). I've seen Gum Fung mentioned repeatedly as the place to go, but thought I'd check again to see what people think. Also, any tips on when to go, what the wait might be at different times, protocol (not that I'm a dim sum novice), things to look for or avoid, etc.? My initial plan was that we'd set out from the Upper West Side at 10-ish tomorrow so as to be able to get there and deal with whatever wait there might be before we freak out from hunger, but I think that might be too ambitiously early for a Saturday. At the same time, I'm leery of going too late and perhaps having them run out of good stuff before we get there. Advice on timing would thus be particularly welcome.
I will report back, of course.
