I have a friend who just started Columbia's graduate journalism program. As part of the curriculum, each student is assigned a neighborhood in New York City to cover. She has been granted Flushing. To help her in this endeavor (and to help myself to some good eating), I'd like to give her a list of must-dines in the neighborhood. Obviously there are loads of Chinese places, but this Manhattan-centric hick remains unaware of specifics. If anyone out there can help advance the causes of journalism and culinary cosmopolitanism, I'd be most appreciative. Anything goes: restaurants, bakeries, groceries, cafes and bars, Chinese, Korean, Malaysian, Italian, Middle Eastern, Afghan, Indian, South American, etc, etc, etc. Thanks.
