Fluffy, scrumptious gnocchi

Last night I tried to make gnocchi for the first time. The results weren't bad, but certainly there are much better gnocchi to be made. Although the texture inside the gnocchi I made was good, they were a bit gummy at the edges, and a little too dense for my taste. Anyone have any secrets for fluffy, pillowy, creamy gnocchi they could share?
